Special Event Weekend June 6:
Our country store in the old barn and the fields will be open for the weekend, beginning Friday
at 10 AM. Saturday’s events will start at 9 AM with a tour of the rainwater catchment system,
followed by a continental breakfast under the Live Oaks in the back yard. Kennie will lead a
craft class in bottling lavender bubble bath in decorative bottles. You can “bedazzle” your own
bottle with your choice of dazzling stones and we will provide the supplies. Stephen will then
lead a tour of the fields and discuss planting, raising and caring for lavender. Stay as long as
you like and, depending on rainfall, we will have blooms available for you to enjoy, photograph
and cut.
Below is the schedule for Saturday June 6. Registration for this special event is $25. Please
call 830-833-4494 and register by May 15th, If necessary, leave your number and we will
return your call.
9:00 AM – Tour Rainwater Catchment System
9:45 AM – Continental Breakfast under the Live Oaks
10:30 AM – Craft class in the Red Barn
11:45 AM – Field Tour
We will also have a “Stars Over Lavender” event during the early evening from 7 to 10 PM.
Come as early as you like for complimentary Hill Country wine and a cheese tray while you
stroll among the lavender, but the viewing through an 8-inch Meade telescope will begin by 7.
You will be able to see features of the moon even before dark. After dark we will continue to
view features of the moon and other night sky features, and then the rings and moons of
Saturn as a finale. The cost for this event will be $25 and attendance will be limited to 25.
Reservations and payment will be required by May 30. Call 830-833-4494 to reserve your

Friday, June 12, 2009:
10 AM – 4 PM: Farm will be open to the public with tours of the lavender fields and rainwater
catchment system, and a country store with lavender products.
Saturday, June 13, 2009:
9 AM – 6PM: Farm tours and discussion on the growth, care and production of lavender.
9 AM – 6 PM: Information, discussion and tours of a rainwater catchment system with Billy
Kniffen, Water Resource Specialist with the Texas AgriLife Extension Service.
9 AM – 6 PM: Painting demonstrations by and exhibition of the works of San Antonio artist,
Dan Potter.
9 AM – 6 PM: Ongoing flintknapping demonstrations with Bill Maloney; discussion and
exhibition of arrowheads and dart points of early inhabitants of the Texas Hill Country.
10 AM – 3 PM: Cretaceous Dinosaur Track Tours on the Blanco River with Tour Guides, Dr.
Julie Westerlund and Ms. Patty Martin, Science Educators at Texas State University.

exhibition of arrowheads and dart points of early inhabitants of the Texas Hill Country.

We will be open the following hours during the month of June: Fridays, 10-4; Saturdays, 9-5;
and, Sundays, 1-5. Our hours will be expanded on festival weekend to 9 AM to 6 PM on
